About River Styx Bridge
This large railroad bridge is located over River Styx Road between Medina and Wadsworth Ohio. The bridge was the site of a train wreck back in 1899 where a train engineer (Alexander Logan) stayed on the runaway train to try and save the people aboard. The train derailed crossing the bridge and crashed in the valley below; Alexander didn’t come out alive. It is said that Alexander still wonders the valley and you can sometimes see the ghost train falling off the tracks in flames. The bridge has also been a site of a few suicides. Passerby often report seeing things fall off the bridge and when they stop to see what fell, nothings ever there.
Here is a picture taken from under the bridge looking up at the bottom of the tracks.
Here is one of the bridges support legs. The anchors were redone and some of the members were replaced a few years ago.
To the left is a picture taken from ontop of the bridge. You can see how hight up we are by looking at the street light twards the right of the picture. On the left is Paul standing at the the base of the bridge ontop of the hill.
